A Woman In San Francisco by Motonari Kakei

Not to be outdone by Roppongi, the traditional gallery district Ginza has created its own art night. 27 galleries including famous art haunts like Shiseido and Nichido will be open until 9pm on Friday, June 8 in Garo no Yakai (“Gallery Evening Party”). Visitors can traipse from gallery to gallery on thematic guided tours, or simply take in as much or as little as they please. Among the ongoing shows are one of the latest paintings of Paris-based Motonari Kakei at Nichido and an exhibition titled “Very Frightening Ukiyo-e: Ghosts in the Edo Period.”

Ginza, Jun 8 (listing).
