The Lotus Sutra is an indispensable scripture for Mahayana Buddhists, studied and used as a devotional text throughout East Asia. A new translation by Gene Reeves, a minister for the International Buddhist Congregation in Tokyo, collects the most remarkable of its many parables, as well as distilling Reeves’ decades of research and reflection on them. During an upcoming appearance at Good Day Books in Ebisu, Reeves will also include a discussion of his earlier work, The Lotus Sutra: A Contemporary Translation of a Buddhist Classic.
