Japan-based Cuban percussionist Juan Carlos Lopez debuts his first-ever solo album in a night of salsa grooves at club Crocodile in Harajuku. A graduate of Cuba’s renowned Escuela Nacional de Arte, Lopez came to Japan 13 years ago and has made it his mission to transfuse Cuban music, rhythm, dance and tradition into Japanese culture. Dale Coco was recorded mostly in Cuba with professional musicians, but also features a track with leading Japanese salsa outfit Salsa Swingoza.
