While swanky lounges are par for the course in Minato-ku, they’re harder to come by in Sagamihara. Do-tun (6-15-43 Sagami-Ono, Sagamihara-shi, Kanagawa; http://r.gnavi.co.jp/e935300) might change all that. The main room features an elegant bar area and cozy booths under a high ceiling, overlooked by an intimate second-floor VIP area filled with cushy, almost bed-like sofas. Downtown elegance notwithstanding, Do-tun’s prices are refreshingly suburban: cocktails cost a flat ¥550, and all bottles of wine can be had for just ¥3,000. The food menu is elegant izakaya-style, with dishes like Hokkaido butter-grilled scallops (¥780) and yakitori moriawase (¥900).
