Yokohama Restaurants Are Cooking Up a Storm in Celebration of 'Y150'

Among the rich stew of special offers for the Y150 celebrations, one in particular has been hogging the headlines. The InterContinental hotel’s Asian bistro, Spicy J, is offering bowls of Vietnamese pho ga chicken noodle soup for just ¥150. Bargain! Closer inspection, however, reveals that it isn’t quite as generous as it seems. The cut-price bowls will in fact only be offered to 15 diners per day, after which they go up in price to ¥630 (half the usual cost). What’s more, the deal is available on just one day per month, meaning that the last—and only—chance you’ll have to take advantage of it is on August 15.
