The Kabukicho red light district is noted for many things—hostess bars and cheap restaurants, to name just two. Now you can combine these pleasures at newly opened Komachi (2-3F, 1-13-10 Kabukicho, Shinjuku-ku; http://meturl.com/komachi). Dubbed a “sexy izakaya,” this 60-seat pub is staffed by fetchingly attired young women who aim to give worn-out salarymen a soothing meal. The food menu features 18 types of seafood kushiyaki (¥100-¥400), as well as kushiage items like cherry tomatoes (¥150), katsu (¥150), salmon (¥250) and dozens more. Drinks include all the standard beers and cocktails, as well as a dozen-strong sake and shochu list.
