Off the beaten path of Aoyama Dori, a hole in the wall izakaya, Nakanishi (5-6-7 Minami-Aoyama, Minato; http://meturl.com/nakanishi), serves draught beer for ¥210 on weekdays and ¥290 on weekends. Sours and shochu are ¥380 and all other beverages are less than ¥500 a glass. Their specialty is handmade udon noodles (¥300) or udonsuki hot pot (¥840), but other menu items such as niratama, or chive and egg (¥550), buffalo wings (¥450) and horse mackerel sashimi (¥740) come in surprisingly decent portions and quality for a place so fantastically cheap. A great location to eat and drink that’s very friendly to your wallet.
