Nama Ham

“We want customers to enjoy authentic Spanish and Italian cuisine for a reasonable price in a casual atmosphere,” say the proprietors of the newly opened Nama Ham in Shinjuku (6-7-3 Shinjuku; 03-5379-4460). Toward that end, the chef—who previously worked at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Southern Italy—has created a menu filled with both pasta and tapas. Iberico ham appears as part of an appetizer assortment and in dishes like pasta carbonara (¥780), while off-price tapas include stir-fried anchovies and cabbage (¥280). The Spanish house wine is just ¥2,800 per bottle, making this cozy joint popular with local salarymen and OLs.
