Upload your snaps of Japan to win a range of prizes—and even some prizes just for registering!

After 3/11, tourism to Japan dropped heavily. But now it is recovering steadily, with tourism in June 2012 exceeding pre-disaster levels for the first time. Riffing on this opportunity, the Japan Tourism Agency has implemented a global campaign called “Share your WOW! Japan Photo Contest.”

To enter, register on the campaign website. Upload the pick of your pics from around Japan, fitting one of six themes: Cool; Delicious; Happy; Beautiful; Funny; and Miracle.

The campaign website connects to Facebook and Sina Weibo, so uploaded photos will be shared with friends and others.

Posted photos will be evaluated by the “WOW!” button on the campaign website, and the number of votes received will be considered in the Japan Tourism Agency’s selection of the winner.

Those invited to the award ceremony will experience the “surge tank” of the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel, which has the atmosphere of a gigantic temple.
