Yoka Wao, 43, is set to play the dark prince in the forthcoming musical Dracula, Fuji TV announced this week. It is to be Wao’s first male role since leaving the Takarazuka Revue. “I get to suck the blood of various people when rehearsing. It’s fun. It might become a habit,” she said in a statement released by Fuji… Enka singer Kiyoshi Hikawa, 33, held a talent contest last week to publicize the release of his latest single “Ano musume to nogiku to watashibune.” The competition, staged by his label Nippon Columbia, was judged on a karaoke style performance in which each entrant was invited to send in a video of themselves singing the same song. Out of 6,245 participants, the eventual winner was nine-year-old Kohei Ogura from Fukushima Prefecture… Eight Korean performing groups from talent agency JYP Entertainment, including prominent pop idol group 2PM, will perform in Japan as part of the “JYP Nation in Japan 2011” event to be held Aug 17-18. The event will be held at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama Prefecture, JYP said in a press release.
