An upcoming performance by one of the Pacific Rim’s most acclaimed ballet companies will have the added benefit of raising money for needy children in Africa. The Austrian Ballet Company will perform the classic Don Quixote as well as the kid-friendly Urashima Taro, which employs interactive elements to tell a well-known Japanese legend. Organized by the Association of Wives of African Ambassadors in Japan, the program is recommended for children as young as 6—as well as adults who might not be traditional ballet fans.

May 28, 6:30 pm. Adults ¥2,900, students ¥2,000, children 6-12 years ¥1,000, children 5 or under free. Meguro Persimmon Hall, 1-1-1 Yakumo, Meguro-ku. Nearest stn: Toritsu-Daigaku (Toyoko line). Call the Embassy of Djibouti at 03-5704-0682 for more information.
