Okay, Gru (voiced again by Steve Carell) has retired from the supervillain business in favor of the no less arduous task of raising three adorable little girls. But something’s missing. Enter Secret Agent Lucy Wilde (voiced by a spot-on Kristen Wiig), a bumbling emissary from the Anti-Villain League, which hopes to recruit him to track down a mystery baddie. Personally, I liked this slightly better than the first, which I found a tad predictable. The fun story along with the rapid-fire sight gags and one-liners kept me amused. Smart enough for grownups and colorful and zany enough for kids.
