Dirty Girl

Dirty Girl

Really a gay fantasy

In a notional 1987, the school slut (Juno Temple) joins forces with an overweight closet case (Jeremy Dozier) for a road trip to find her real father. Along the way the boy loses his virginity to a male stripper and finds the courage to face his disapproving dad. Front-loaded with promises of racy un-PC irreverence, it soon becomes apparent that this narratively and stylistically jumbled, semi-autobiographical first (and likely last) directorial effort by Abe Sylvia is really a gay fantasy. Nothing wrong with gay fantasies, but they probably shouldn’t be titled Dirty Girl. Just sayin’. Good cast. Wasted.
