In a dystopian future, time has literally become money. Everyone gets to live free to 25, see, and then gets one more year. Additional time can be earned, bought or traded (or stolen). Not nearly as compelling as director Andrew Niccol’s 1997 Gattica, which also focused on the impact of new technologies on society. It makes the mistake of losing sight of the science in favor of what is essentially an adequately acted (Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried) generic action mystery, heavy on the car chases, shoot-‘em-ups, plot holes and time quips. This movie will cost you 109 minutes of your life.
