Apparently, through the eons, the inhabitants of Mars have somehow forgotten how to parent, assigning the task to “nanny-bots.” But these machines just can’t get the TLC part right, so the dystopian matriarchy that now runs the planet has taken to kidnapping good mothers from Earth and extracting their “mom-ness,” with which they program their childcaregivers. A kid who has just sassed his mom witnesses her abduction and stows away to the Red Planet. Yeah, I know. Disney. But the story is from a children’s morality tale by Bloom County creator Berkeley Breathed, and the visuals are okay. Rainy day stuff. Dubbed in Japanese only.
