Wahlberg makes the perfect foil for Ferrell in this skit-form film

A cop/buddy action comedy that works? Rare, I agree. But this one does, possibly because it’s structured almost in skit form, and that’s what SNL alum Will Farrell does best. Tough-guy Mark Wahlberg makes the perfect foil. Farrell plays a risk-adverse, mild-mannered police accountant who listens to Little River Band to get psyched up and is inexplicably attractive to women. Wahlberg is a hard ass with anger management issues. He mostly does incredulous, but very well, and Farrell gives him frequent reasons to. Wait’ll you see the wife! Great comedic timing, perceptive satire, and just silly enough.
