Fair to middling Exorcist knockoff if you’re among the few people who have not long ago grown tired of the subgenre. The hook, I guess, is that the possessive troublemaker here is a dybbuk, an evil Hebrew spirit. The Rabbi exorcist called in to, well, exorcise the demon is played earnestly, if without great gravitas, by Hasidic reggae superstar Matisyahu. I’m not making this up. At any rate, this eerily entertaining hokum plays with convincing realism to a point, and the pacing, construction and acting are good. Nice use of sound and creepy minimalist music. But mainly for horror buffs.
