Polished but clearly promotional documentary by social-realist fiction filmmaker (and unabashed fan) Shane Meadows (This is England, Dead Man’s Shoes) about the resurrection and phenomenally successful reunion tour of the legendary band. The group’s dissolution in acrimony 16 years earlier and the ensuing court battles are mentioned but not dwelt upon. This will delight the group’s obviously avid followers and probably baffle anyone else (me) not intimately involved in the 90s Manchester indie-rock scene. Still, it’s well put together, and I liked it that Meadows includes some compete songs. (97 min)
