If you’ve ever wanted to lend your voice to an animated film, here’s your chance. Walt Disney Studios Japan is holding auditions for the Japanese dubbing of Disney/Pixar movie Toy Story 3, to be released July 10. In Toy Story 2, protagonist Woody was voiced by actor Toshiaki Arasawa, 46, while Tokoro Joji, 55, took the voice of Buzz Lightyear. This time, Disney is inviting members of the public to audition for the voices of the Green Army Men, and for three new characters, Peas-in-a-Pod. Apparently, they want “someone who can do a slightly stern and threatening voice.” Disney also held Japan auditions for 2006’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and 2008’s Tinker Bell. For Toy Story 3, they will be accepting applications via their mobile website, www.toy3.jp, until March 11. Anyone can apply, regardless of experience, age or gender, but Japanese fluency is a must.
