One of the top-rated shows in the US, Law & Order SVU hits the local airwaves once again as season 5 debuts on Fox Japan. Things start off on an upbeat note with episode 1—another plot “ripped from the headlines” (er, of a couple years ago), this time based on the case of Laci Peterson. Ace detectives Benson and Stabler have a kidnapping case on their hands, with the victim being a high-risk pregnant woman near ready to burst. Bizarrely, multiple suspects come forward and admit to the crime, which makes things appropriately complicated. More star performances from Emmy-winning Mariska Hargitay as Benson and good ol’ Ice-T as Detective Fin Tutola.
First episode airs on Oct 14 at 8pm on Fox Japan.
