Returning for its second season this fall is the 2007 smash hit show Liar Game. The series follows Nao Kanzaki (Erika Toda), a naïve and “stupidly honest” college student who gets drawn into the titular “Liar Game”—a battle of wits and deception where the goal is to trick the other players out of ¥100,000,000. In order to survive the game, she must team up with Shinichi Akiyama (Shota Matsuda), a master swindler just released from prison. Season 1 ended with the main characters having seemingly bought their way out of the competition. This proves to be nothing more than a false sense of security, as Nao receives a new invitation to the game and the second round begins. Look for Oscar nominee Rinko Kikuchi in a supporting role.
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Fuji TV, channel 8.
